SIGMA publishes a variety of psychological instruments, including measures of ability,
personality, and career interest.
SIGMA Assessment Systems' founder, Douglas N. Jackson, Ph.D., was a world authority
in human assessment. Over the course of his long and prolific career, he published
over 200 articles in refereed journals, several dozen book chapters, and held the
position of Chair of the American Psychological Association's Committee on Psychological
Tests and Assessments. He also served as President of the Society for Multivariate
Experimental Psychology and as President of APA's Division of Measurement, Evaluation
and Statistics. In 2004 he was awarded the "Samuel J. Messick Award" for Distinguished
Scientific Contributions by the APA Division 5 (Evaluation, Measurement, and Statistics).
Dr. Jackson was one of the few American citizens who have been elected Fellow of
the Royal Society of Canada. Many of Dr. Jackson's doctoral students have gone forth
to make important contributions in the psychology field. Over 3 million people have
taken assessments authored by Dr. Jackson.
